I’m Jamie Sims, and I started WalesLuxeCandles pretty simply — I just fancied making a candle one day. What began as a bit of a hobby at my kitchen table in South Wales turned into something I actually enjoyed (and got a bit obsessed with). Before long, I was testing waxes, mixing scents, and making more candles than I knew what to do with.
I gave a few to family and friends, and they loved them. That’s when I thought, maybe this could be more than just a side project. So I set up a little stall, sold my first batches, and the response was brilliant. That gave me the push to turn it into a proper brand.
The scents are inspired by things I love about Wales — the calm of the countryside, the freshness of the coast, and the warmth you get from just being home. I wanted candles that feel simple, natural, and actually fill the room without being over the top.
Everything’s still hand-poured by me, using good ingredients, reusable jars, and packaging that doesn’t cost the earth. It’s not about mass production — it’s about making candles that people genuinely enjoy and want in their homes.
Now, WalesLuxeCandles has grown beyond the kitchen table and market stalls, but it’s still just me making them with the same care as the very first one.
